Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu performed puja at the Kanakadurga Temple in Vijayawada before heading to inaugurate the pylon, marking the linking of the mighty Godavari and Krishna rivers.

He later addressed a public meeting including farmers and locals where he dedicated the Pattiseema project to the nation and said that it was completed in a record time of just over 5 months.

Later, he inspected the works the Pattiseema Project and asked officials to work on releasing water from the 1st pump of the project.

Due to heavy rains in the Godavari districts, there was an inteeruption in works. However, the 1st pump will be operational by tonight.
