A.R. Rahman shared Wings of Jibrael's post.

In generosity and helping others, be like a river
In compassion and grace, be like the Sun
In concealing others' faults, be like the night
In anger and fury, be like the dead
In modesty and humility, be like the Earth
In tolerance, be like a sea
Either exist as you are or be as you look
In compassion and grace, be like the Sun
In concealing others' faults, be like the night
In anger and fury, be like the dead
In modesty and humility, be like the Earth
In tolerance, be like a sea
Either exist as you are or be as you look
The philosophy and teachings of Sufis brought about a change in my life. It has influenced my music, it made me look at my inner self and the meaning of my existence in more depth. Influenced by this and much more, the songs kept coming in praise of the ones who have blessed me with spiritual abundance. Though I feel unworthy of many things, they have been bestowed upon me due to their prayers.
Their journeys and teachings have given many others a whole new dimension and perspective.
I feel honoured and elevated when they make me do songs about them... Affirming the oneness of the creator and glorifying his presence! Songs like Khwaja Mere Khwaja, Maula, Kun Faaya Kun have found a deep connect with so many of you. This connect and the love of people has enabled me to embark on a new journey, moving away from my routine of romantic and dance-oriented compositions, and perform for you, a few of the Sufi songs I have composed for films and a few covers of the masters of Qawwali.
Presenting to you "Wings Of Jibrael"- a Sufi Musical Experience.
The concert series aspires to go beyond the borders of daily human limitations and intends to transport you to a zone of self refinement. Join my ensemble and I, on the "Wings Of Jibrael" a pure Sufi concert series, aimed at assisting human causes in the future. Even though some would consider this as an esoteric interest, our aspiration is for Wings of Jibrael to contribute to humanity through spirituality and a part of earnings going to benefit humanitarian causes.
InshaAllah.
