ISRO with its workhorse - PSLV (Polar Satellite Launch) in its XL configuration has successfully placed India's seventh and final navigation satellite, IRNSS-1G to the intended orbit.
PSLV-C33 in its 35th flight blasted off majestically from the 1st Launch Pad at SHAR, Shriharikota. The PSLV-XL variant is the most powerful version of India's success model PSLV. IRNSS-1G is the last in the series of India's Regional Navigation Satellite System (IRNSS).
ISRO in the past had placed six satellites in orbits around the earth. The IRNSS-1G is the seven satellite of the constellation and has provided the nation with an independent navigational system. India will no longer be relay on the US developed and operated Global Positioning System.
The navigational system will in the future be rolled out to SAARC nations.
Congratulations to the ever successfull #PSLV team and every hard working soul at ISRO.
